The Estonian Association of Educational Technologists (EHTL) recognizes outstanding individuals and projects in the field of educational technology to highlight those who have made a significant contribution to the development of edtech in Estonia.
Educational Technologist of the Year – Leila Lehtmets, Kose Gymnasium
Chosen from among 14 candidates, Leila Lehtmets received the award for her contribution to advancing educational technology at the regional, national, and international levels. Lehtmets has been active in developing digital solutions, participating in eTwinning projects, and successfully guiding students in various competitions. Her work ranges from creating digital solutions for math olympiads to organizing virtual escape rooms.
Honorable mentions in the same category:
Ave Soekov – for her contribution to establishing Estonia’s first fully online general education school (Täiskasvanute E-Gümnaasium), supporting access to education both in Estonia and abroad.
Martin Ilves – for his role in the educational technology development of the Estonian Massage and Therapy School, inspiring other non-formal education institutions.
Achievement of the Year – Tallinn University ELU Project: Creating Learning Content for the Smart Pencil TADA
The Achievement of the Year award went to the Tallinn University ELU project team for their innovative development of learning content for the TADA Smart Pencil. Project representatives Kaire Kollom, Elyna Heinmäe, Kerstin Kööp, and Heddi Reinsalu created a significant edtech solution that supports teaching and learning.
Volunteer of the Year – No award was given in this category as the submitted candidates did not meet the criteria.
