The Estonian Association of Educational Technologists has announced this year’s recognitions, highlighting individuals who have significantly contributed to the development of educational technology in Estonia. A total of 32 candidates were nominated, all demonstrating remarkable dedication and professionalism.

Educational Technologist of the Year 2025 is Gerda Rohumets (Raasiku School)

Gerda stood out for her dedication, thoroughness, and innovative approach. She has played a key role in developing the digital competencies of Raasiku School’s teachers, and her work extends beyond the school to benefit educators across Estonia.

Also recognized in the same category:

  • Katrin Uurman (Tallinn School of Services): for advancing educational technology at both national and school levels, and for her consistent support of staff digital development.
  • Heily Epro-Volmer (Harkujärve Basic School): for leading the implementation of digital learning in grades 1–3 and technology classes in grade 4, and for sharing her expertise widely.

Although seven strong candidates were nominated for Contributor of the Year, no specific achievements from 2024 were identified during the review process. Therefore, the award was not presented this year.

The Association thanks all nominees and nominators and encourages continued recognition of outstanding individuals and initiatives in the field of educational technology.
